Handle failed payments
Why payments fail, what Dyno retries automatically, and what to do about it.

When a recurring payment fails, Dyno follows Stripe’s smart retry schedule and notifies the member by email each time. The member’s access stays active until the grace period ends.
The retry schedule
- Attempt 1 — at the scheduled billing date
- Attempt 2 — 3 days later
- Attempt 3 — 5 days later
- Attempt 4 — 7 days later
- If all attempts fail, the subscription is paused and the member loses access
What you can do
From the member’s profile you can see why each attempt failed (declined, insufficient funds, expired card). You can prompt the member to update their card from the app, or charge a new card manually with their consent.
