When a member is promoted, Dyno can mark the moment in three ways: a printable certificate, an invitation for the member to share a post in your club feed, and a push notification.

Certificates are on by default for every track.

The certificate opens in a new browser tab. It shows your club's name, the member's name and the level they achieved, and who awarded it if that is recorded. Print it, or save it as a PDF, from your browser's print options.

Members can open certificates for their own promotions in the Dyno app. See [How members track their progress](/articles/member-track-your-progress).

Certificates for a child's promotions do not show in a parent's app yet. Print them from the dashboard if a parent asks for one.

The **Certificate** button disappears for that track's promotions, in the dashboard and in the app.

Dyno never posts a promotion to your feed by itself. Instead, the next time a promoted member opens the feed in the app, they see a celebration and can tap **Share a post** to post about it. Nothing is posted unless they choose to.

The **Member Progression** card only shows if your plan includes Leaderboards. Without it, the invitation stays on.

Children's accounts are never invited to share a promotion post, so a child's name is not put on your feed this way.

For a child's account, the notification goes to their parent or guardian.

Open a printable certificate, invite members to celebrate in your feed, and know which notifications go out.

Turn certificates off for a track Open Progression and click the track. In the Details panel, click Edit. Untick Issue certificates for promotions on this track. Click Save. The Certificate button disappears for that track's promotions, in the dashboard and in the app. Celebration posts Dyno never posts a promotion to your feed by itself. Instead, the next time a promoted member opens the feed in the app, they see a celebration and can tap Share a post to post about it. Nothing is posted unless they choose to. To change this: Open Settings and choose Notifications. In the Member Progression card, turn Invite members to share a post when promoted on or off. It saves as you toggle. The Member Progression card only shows if your plan includes Leaderboards. Without it, the invitation stays on. Children's accounts are never invited to share a promotion post, so a child's name is not put on your feed this way. Notifications Dyno sends a push notification when: A member is promoted One or more skills are marked Achieved (several at once arrive as one notification) For a child's account, the notification goes to their parent or guardian.

Certificates and celebrating promotions

Day to day, coaches do two things in Progression: sign off the skills members show, and promote members who have earned their next level.

Owners, admins, managers and staff can assess and promote. Accounts with the Staff role do not see **Progression** in the menu, so they work from the member's page: open **Members**, choose the member, then the **Progression** tab.

Each change saves straight away. **Assess** is greyed out if the member is at the top level, or if their next level has no skills.

A signed-off skill belongs to the skill, not to a promotion. If you sign a skill off early, it is still signed off when the member reaches that level.

When a skill is marked **Achieved**, the member gets a push notification. For a child, it goes to their parent or guardian.

The **Members** panel shows each member's **Current level** and **Progress**:

Click **Ready to promote** to see only members who are ready.

The promotion is recorded with today's date, your note and your name, and the member or their parent gets a push notification.

There is no undo button. A member's current level is always their most recent promotion, so if you pick the wrong level, promote them again to the right one.

After a grading, click **Promote all ready** in the **Members** panel and confirm. Each ready member moves to their own next level. If you click it again, members who have already moved up are not promoted twice.

Click **Export CSV** in the **Members** panel. The file lists each member with their current level, next level, skills progress and whether they are ready.

Sign off each member's skills, see who is ready, and promote members up the track.

Promote a member Click Promote on the member's row, or on their Progression tab. Level is set to their next level. You can choose any level on the track. If you like, add a Note (optional), such as "Passed grading". If the new level is linked to a group, tick Also move to that group to move them as well. Click Promote. The promotion is recorded with today's date, your note and your name, and the member or their parent gets a push notification. There is no undo button. Promote everyone who is ready After a grading, click Promote all ready in the Members panel and confirm. Each ready member moves to their own next level. Assess skills and promote members

Once you have a track, you add levels: the ordered rungs members climb. You can also add the skills a member needs for each level. Open **Progression** and click the track to start. Owners, admins and managers can make these changes.

Repeat for each level. Levels are listed in the order members climb them, starting with the first.

Colours are optional, but they make belt systems much easier to scan on the members list.

The new order saves as you drop each level.

Use the pencil icon to edit a level, or the bin icon to delete it.

You cannot delete a level that members currently hold. Dyno tells you how many members hold it. Promote them to another level first, then delete it.

Skills are what a member must show to earn a level, for example "Tread water for 30 seconds". They are optional.

Use the up and down arrows to reorder skills. A level can have up to 50 skills. Removing a skill keeps the assessments already recorded against it.

A level with no skills can still be awarded, but members are never marked as ready for it. You promote them onto it yourself.

Members can see a skill's coaching note in the app. To keep a note for coaches only, tick **Note visible to staff only (hidden from members & parents)** when you add or edit the skill.

Add the levels of your track, colour and reorder them, and add the skills checklist coaches sign off.

Once you have a track, you add levels: the ordered rungs members climb. You can also add the skills a member needs for each level. Open Progression and click the track to start. Owners, admins and managers can make these changes. Add a level In the Levels panel, click Add level. Enter a Name, such as "Blue Belt" or "Stage 3". If you like, pick a Colour (optional) and add a Description (optional). The colour shows on the level wherever it appears. Click Save. Repeat for each level. Levels are listed in the order members climb them, starting with the first. Colours are optional, but they make belt systems much easier to scan on the members list. Reorder levels In the Levels panel, click Reorder. Drag each level by its handle into place. Click Done. The new order saves as you drop each level. Build your levels and skills

A track is one graded ladder. Most clubs need one, but you can run several, for example separate adult and junior belt systems. Owners, admins and managers can create tracks.

Each template shows how many levels and skills it includes:

The template's levels and skills are copied into a new track. There is no ongoing link, so you can rename, reorder, recolour or delete anything afterwards.

Your new track appears in the list. Click it to add levels. See [Build your levels and skills](/articles/build-levels-and-skills).

Use a name your coaches will recognise at a glance, because members see it in the app. "Adult Belts" is clearer than "Track 1".

Open the track and click **Delete track**, then confirm. Members keep their promotion history, but the track stops showing in the app.

Start a new belt, stage or grade ladder from a ready-made template or from blank.

A track is one graded ladder. Most clubs need one, but you can run several, for example separate adult and junior belt systems. Owners, admins and managers can create tracks. Start from a template Open Progression and click New Track. If you have no tracks yet, click Create track. Under Start from a template, find the scheme you want and click Use. Each template shows how many levels and skills it includes: Learn to Swim Stages: seven stages with water skills for each stage. Belt Syllabus: a white-to-black belt ladder with placeholder grading criteria to adapt to your art. Gymnastics Badges: eight badges with floor skills for each badge. Dance Grades: Primary to Grade 5 with general technique criteria. Levels 1–5: a blank five-level ladder to build your own scheme on. The template's levels and skills are copied into a new track. There is no ongoing link, so you can rename, reorder, recolour or delete anything afterwards. Start from blank Click New Track. Under Or create a blank track, enter a Name and, if you like, a Description (optional). Click Create. Your new track appears in the list. Click it to add levels. See Build your levels and skills. Use a name your coaches will recognise at a glance, because members see it in the app. "Adult Belts" is clearer than "Track 1". Track settings Open the track. In the Details panel, click Edit. Change the Name, Description or either tick box below. Click Save. Visible in the app: untick to hide the track from members. It shows as Hidden in your track list. Issue certificates for promotions on this track: on by default. See Certificates and celebrating promotions. Delete a track Open the track and click Delete track, then confirm. Members keep their promotion history, but the track stops showing in the app.

Create a progression track

If your club uses Dyno to track belts, stages, levels or grades, you can follow your progress in the Dyno app. You do not need to ask a coach where you are up to.

Your profile shows **Your progress**: your most recent achievements across all your clubs, such as a new level, a skill signed off or a personal best. It only appears once you have at least one achievement.

Only your coaches can sign off skills and promote you. If something looks out of date, speak to your coach at your next session.

If your club issues certificates, each promotion on the **Your Progress** screen has a **Certificate** link. Tap it to open the certificate.

If you have added children under **Settings** and **Family**, you can follow their progress too:

When your child achieves a skill or is promoted, the push notification comes to you.

Certificates for a child's promotions do not show in the app yet. Ask your club if you would like a copy.

What members and parents see in the Dyno app: current levels, skill checklists and certificates.

If your club uses Dyno to track belts, stages, levels or grades, you can follow your progress in the Dyno app. You do not need to ask a coach where you are up to. Your progress on your profile Your profile shows Your progress: your most recent achievements across all your clubs, such as a new level, a skill signed off or a personal best. It only appears once you have at least one achievement. Open your profile. Next to Your progress, tap View all. The Progress screen opens with a tab for each of your clubs. Each tab shows your progression, performance and attendance at that club. Your progress at a club Open your club in the app. In the Club Stats section, tap the Your rank card. It appears once you hold a level at the club. The Your Progress screen opens. For each track you see: The level you are Working toward, with a progress bar, for example "4 of 6 skills signed off". Every skill for that level marked Achieved, Working on it or Not started, with any coaching notes your club has shared. Your promotion history, with the date and who awarded each level. Only your coaches can sign off skills and promote you. If something looks out of date, speak to your coach at your next session. Certificates If your club issues certificates, each promotion on the Your Progress screen has a Certificate link. Tap it to open the certificate. If you manage a child If you have added children under Settings and Family, you can follow their progress too: On the Progress screen, tap your name at the top and choose your child. Or open Settings, tap Family, then tap your child to see their Progress section. When your child achieves a skill or is promoted, the push notification comes to you. How members track their progress

Progression lets your club record how members move up a graded system: martial arts belts, learn-to-swim stages, gymnastics badges, dance grades, or your own numbered levels. You set up the ladder once, coaches sign off the skills members show, and you promote members up it over time.

Progression is free on every Dyno plan. There is no add-on to buy and nothing to switch on.

Each member holds one current level on each track. When you promote them, the promotion is added to their history with the date, any note, and who awarded it.

In the dashboard, open **Progression** from the left-hand menu, under **Gamification**. You can also work with one member on the **Progression** tab of their member page.
