Assess skills and promote members

Sign off each member's skills, see who is ready, and promote members up the track.

Day to day, coaches do two things in Progression: sign off the skills members show, and promote members who have earned their next level.

Assess a member from the track

  1. Open Progression and click the track.
  2. In the Members panel, find the member and click Assess.
  3. Each skill for the level they are working toward has a status. Click it to move between Not started, Working on it and Achieved.
  4. Close the window when you have finished.

Each change saves straight away. Assess is greyed out if the member is at the top level, or if their next level has no skills.

Assess from the member's page

  1. Open Members and choose the member.
  2. Open the Progression tab.
  3. Under Working toward, click a skill's status to change it.

When a skill is marked Achieved, the member gets a push notification. For a child, it goes to their parent or guardian.

See who is ready

The Members panel shows each member's Current level and Progress:

  • A count and bar, such as "4/6 for Yellow Belt"
  • Ready with the level name, when every skill on the next level is achieved
  • Next: with the level name, when the next level has no skills
  • Top level, when there is nowhere higher to go

Click Ready to promote to see only members who are ready.

Promote a member

  1. Click Promote on the member's row, or on their Progression tab.
  2. Level is set to their next level. You can choose any level on the track.
  3. If you like, add a Note (optional), such as "Passed grading".
  4. If the new level is linked to a group, tick Also move to that group to move them as well.
  5. Click Promote.

The promotion is recorded with today's date, your note and your name, and the member or their parent gets a push notification.

Promote everyone who is ready

After a grading, click Promote all ready in the Members panel and confirm. Each ready member moves to their own next level. If you click it again, members who have already moved up are not promoted twice.

Export the members list

Click Export CSV in the Members panel. The file lists each member with their current level, next level, skills progress and whether they are ready.
